The POCKETConsult site, which is owned and operated by Elsevier, is committed to your right to privacy. Our privacy policy, which sets out what information we collect about you, how we use it and the choices you have about how we use it, is stated below:

NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Examples of non-personally identifiable information we collect and analyze from all users, registered or unregistered, include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; click stream data including date and time, cookie number and content you viewed or searched.

We collect and use non-personally identifiable information for the purposes of security and quality control and improving the POCKETConsult site.

REGISTRATION
In order to make use of the features and services of the POCKETConsult site we ask you to register and obtain an POCKETConsult username and password, either personally or through affiliation with your institution or other commercial resource. The data collected from a POCKETConsult is collected from the Registration form that is presented to users when they choose to register.

HOW REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS USED
We use the information that you provide in order to provide you access to your entitlements and for such additional purposes as fulfilling and responding to your requests, to inform you about new features, functionality or options relating to the POCKETConsult Services, customizing our services, improving our product and communicating with you. Gathering registration information allows the POCKETConsult site to link a name and contact information to a User Name. In the event of a system problem, having the name information allows our Customer Services group to contact the user and relay pertinent information about the problem.

ACCESS TO YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The information maintained for each registered user is entered on the Registration form and can be reviewed and modified at any time only by the validated user by clicking on the "User Profile" button. The accuracy of the user data is solely the responsibility of the user, even if the information is recorded by a Customer Services representative via telephone when requested by the user.

E-MAIL COMMUNICATION
Unless they indicate their preference not to do so, all registered users of the POCKETConsult site automatically receive e-mails giving details of new features, functionality, or options related to POCKETConsult Services and notification as to when their subscriptions will expire. If you do not wish to receive this information from us, notify us at online.help@elsevier.com or by other means provided within the communications you receive.

SUBSCRIPTIONS
When you subscribe to certain services on the POCKETConsult site, we collect details of the service(s) you wish to subscribe to and your credit card details (for personal subscriptions), and use this information with your registration information in order to process your subscription. We use your credit card details to bill you for the subscription, and where necessary to process the transaction, we will pass this information on to third parties.

RETENTION OF DATA
We retain the data we collect from you for as long as it is relevant to our business purposes or until you request that we remove it by contacting POCKETConsult's Customer Services at the phone or e-mail address detailed below.

DISCLOSURE OF DATA TO THIRD PARTIES
We do not pass on our registered user's personally identifying registration information (i.e the user's name, address, phone number or e-mail address) to third parties without their express prior consent, unless required by law.

COOKIES
The POCKETConsult site uses cookies to determine your identity. Cookies are anonymous alphanumeric identifiers stored by us on your computer which enable us to identify your computer when you access the POCKETConsult site. The POCKETConsult site cannot determine your identity unless you choose to register. POCKETConsult may communicate information to your subscribing institute about your visit(s) in collective or aggregated data that does not identify you specifically.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY
We keep your information confidential. The information collected through the registration form is linked directly to an POCKETConsult User Name and Password and can only be retrieved by supplying the correct User Name and Password that is linked to that profile. The personal and demographic information about each user is stored on POCKETConsult servers that are behind a firewall and physically housed within a secure data centre. Furthermore, our internal practices help protect your privacy by limiting employee access to and use of customer data.

ABOUT THIS PRIVACY POLICY
The foregoing policies are the current Privacy Policies of the POCKETConsult site. If we change this policy, we will put a notice on the home page of the POCKETConsult site. Our statement and policies do not create a contract nor convey any legal rights.

This privacy policy applies solely to the information you provide while visiting this web site.
